Data Protection Statement
Caernarfon RFC (“the Club”) considers that protecting your information is very important and we recognise that you have an interest in how we may collect, use and share such information. This Data Protection Statement outlines how we use and protect your personal data, and states the principles which reflect our commitment to safeguarding that information.
Our Principles
These provide that personal data must be:
Processed fairly and lawfully;
Processed for limited purposes and in an appropriate way;
Adequate, relevant and not excessive for the purpose;
Accurate;
Not kept longer than necessary for the purpose;
Processed in line with data subjects’ rights;
Secure;
Not transferred to people or organisations situated in countries without adequate protection.
Use of your information
Any information collected about you will be treated as confidential and will only be used as follows:
CR Caernarfon holds information about players/parents in order to manage the Club’s activities including recruitment, registration, playing rugby, training, and to be able to provide contact/information with regard to the off- field activities of CR Caernarfon and its sections;
Information is passed between sections of CR Caernarfon for operational reasons (for example, the Registration Secretary notifies changes of address to the relevant coaches, managers, Treasurers and others on a ‘need to know’ basis).
Information may be disclosed to external agencies to which the Club has affiliations such as the WRU.
Information regarding health or medication is held by CR Caernarfon in the best interests of the player and to assist coaches/managers and medical practitioners to take appropriate steps in the event of injury. This information will not be passed on to third parties except to medical professionals/first aiders in the event of emergency where appropriate.
General information and Your Rights
You have the right to:
Receive a copy of information we hold about you, if you apply for this in writing, and to have rectified any information that is inaccurate.
Please be aware that Internet communications are not secure unless the data being sent is encrypted. Therefore CR Caernarfon cannot accept responsibility for the unauthorised access by a third party and/or the corruption of data being sent to CR Caernarfon or its authorised Officers;
If you do not want CR Caernarfon to use your information for such purposes you must inform the Club in writing. If you have any queries about data protection please contact the Club’s Honorary Secretary.
